After six years, the Open Roof Festival has awards-ified. The film-and-music series, at 99 Sudbury through August 19, is partnering with SiriusXM on an audience choice award for emerging artists playing the fest. The winner will be chosen via on-site voting and “social media engagement.”
The top prize is a not-too-shabby $7,000, and second and third prizes are $2,000 and $1,000.
Artists playing this year include Del Bel, Sam Drysdale, Hooded Fang, Tomi Swick, Abdominal & the Obliques, Rob Moir & the Great Lakes, the Heavyweights Brass Band, Os Tropies, Leah Fay and Jessica Mitchell. openrooffestival.com.
