T.a.T.u.

Holy cow, this is bad. And also kind of good. If you thought the age of irony was over, think again. T.a.T.u, fake lesbians extraordinaire (and why would anyone who lives in Toronto where a real lesbian is always just a hop and skip away give a fart about that?), are the Russian equivalent of cheesy ABBA-style Euro-pop, what Shonen Knife were to punk in the 90s, only not as genuinely talented, i.e., relentless thieves with obvious accents to the point of parody. Lovely little voices and meaningless and stunningly stupid lyrics over catchy dance beats and synthesized melodies abound alongside oft ethereal ballads about needing a friend and such. Oh, bad pop! The Spice Girls without the numbers, style and awesome songwriting. Kylie without the, well, without the Kylieness.
