The Plateaus takes on indie idiocy

The Canadian indie rock scene is getting the Spinal Tap treatment in a CBC-backed digital series premiering September 10.

Created by Annie Murphy and Matthew Raudsepp (who also star), The Plateaus follows a fictional band attempting to parlay their viral music video YNG LUV into even greater success after their lead singer dies tragically during band practice.

Producers have lined up famous faces to cameo, including upcoming Polaris Prize host Fred Penner, Elisha Cuthbert, Jay Baruchel, Tokyo Police Club, Hollerado, Sam Roberts, Sarah Gadon and George Stroumboulopoulos, and cameos by David Cronenberg, Ethan Hawke and Eugene Levy in the music video.
