TIJUANA BIBLES

Rating: NNNN

Prior to leaving for a European tour last October, mysterious T.O. wrestle rockers the Tijuana Bibles printed up copies of their just-completed Party Rockers album to sell on the road for food, gas and other essentials needed to sustain the world’s toughest masked band’s conquest of foreign lands. Consequently, it’s rarely seen in local stores, which is a shame — the John Critchley-recorded, -mixed and -mastered sessions resulted in some of the Bibles’ finest studio moments. The disc captures more of the revved-up rock ‘n’ roll foolery for which they’re loved by lucha libre fans and grudgingly admired by less fit specimens. After an eventful 10-year run, the Tijuana Bibles are leaving the game in tip-top form with Party Rockers.

The Tijuana Bibles play their final show at the Cadillac Lounge Saturday (April 14).
