Hey hey, ho ho, Rob Ford’s got to go”

The last time Nathan Phillips Square was covered in chalk, it was to celebrate the life of late Toronto city councilor and NDP leader Jack Layton. Yesterday, the crowd gathered at the square outside City Hall weren’t there to celebrate, but to protest. Their placards and chalk messages implored scandalized Mayor Rob Ford to resign from office, following allegations of crack-cocaine use. For over two weeks, Ford has managed to all but evade the allegations, ducking reporters’ questions even amidst mass staff resignations. Torontonians – or large swaths of Torontonians – are fed up. As they chanted yesterday, “Hey hey, ho ho, Rob Ford’s got to go.”
