Locals are excited for today’s launch of a new Randy’s Patties location at the Eaton Centre in downtown Toronto.
The restaurant was originally a popular destination for Jamaican patties in the Little Jamaica neighbourhood since 1979, and announced the new downtown location in an Instagram post on Wednesday.
“This is not a drill.. Randy’s Patties is opening inside the Eaton Centre this week,” they revealed in a reel.
In 2022, the restaurant unexpectedly closed due to issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic, Metrolinx construction and labour shortages, and reopened after renovations in Aug. 2024.

In a statement to Now Toronto, a Randy’s spokesperson said that while the launch took a lot of effort, the team is very excited about expanding their signature flavour in the city.
“Randy’s Team is excited for this opportunity though it has been a lot of heavy lifting behind the scenes in order to be ready. We look forward to serving all patrons [on] April 25th and guarantee the same taste for which the Randy’s Patties brand is known,” the spokesperson said.
They added that the Eaton Centre location was chosen as a vibrant spot in the heart of downtown, and a staple to residents and visitors of Toronto.
“Randy’s is always happy for the opportunity to introduce Torontonians’ palates to the great pleasures of Jamaican patties. Eaton Centre being a Toronto staple with millions of visitors annually is a prime location to serve up this goodness,” they said.
“Spring time into summer will certainly be an exciting time inside the Eaton Centre. We look forward to the support and encourage those who are new to Randy’s Patties to come on down and give it a try!”
