Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s eldest son just released his debut single, and Canadians are eating it up.
Xavier Trudeau, known musically as Xav, dropped “Til The Nights Done” at midnight on Friday, a sensual R&B track that blends emotive lyrics against a sultry Hip Hop beat.
The intimate song captures the essence of a late-night romance and lustful yearning, with a hazy touch.
“We could roll sum, we could light one,” Xav croons. “Baby we could move in slow motion, ‘til the night’s done.”
The 17-year-old sets the tone for an after-hours smoke session, despite being a bit too young to actually “light one” up – the legal age to purchase cannabis is 19 in Ontario, after Justin Trudeau’s Liberal government legalized recreational use of the drug in 2018.
The song was first teased in an Instagram post last month, and a music video for “Til The Night’s Done” will be released on Xav’s YouTube channel at 4:30 p.m. ET on Friday.

Canadians are enjoying the song so far, many comparing it to the likes of the country’s best R&B exports, from Drake and Justin Bieber.
“It’s not a bad effort,” streeter Kingston Imoh said. “He can go places with that”
“Very solid first ever drop,” one user on TikTok said.
“Mark my words, he’s going to be the next Justin Bieber/Shawn Mendes,” an Instagram user said. “So glad to see Canadian talent slaying the game.”
