The Gone in 30 Seconds national video contest is calling on people to pick up cameras, head to an editing suite and make a flick. There's no restriction on what you can do (well, laws of the land apply), so dust off the jug, spoons,mouth organ and devil sticks. Videos will be judged 50 per cent on creativity and 50 per cent on content - so maybe forget the devil sticks.
You might ask, What the hell is a 30 second video going to do to change Steve-o mind on arts cuts?
I'd say nothing - but it's election time, so every smear video helps.
10 finalists will be selected through YouTube and aired at an Oct. 9 concert at the Phoenix, but get cracking because the deadline is 9 am, Oct. 1.
