Happening NOW: April 12, 2010

What’s happening April 12, 2010:

The TTC union’s first town hall meeting went down yesterday, and Local 113 boss Bob Kinnear found four lucky employees whom he could rely on to put on smiles, answer questions and apologize for their peers. The tête à tête was under-attended, but maybe everyone’s holding out for April 18 in Scarborough, or May 2 at Ryerson. Or maybe nobody wants to spend beautiful weekends thinking about what makes them miserable during the week.

Want to help save Transit City? There are a few options, like Facebook groups, ribbons and a letter-writing campaign. But, maybe you just want a cool button? Those are around too – and will be spreading around at the next TTC union town halls.

Could the pope be arrested for crimes against humanity? Evolutionist Richard Dawkins hopes so, as he’s trying to use the same U.K. provisions used to arrest Augusto Pinochet over a decade ago to put Benedict XVI on trial. Benedict, it was revealed over the weekend, tried to protect a pedophile priest instead of taking direct defrocking action.
