What’s happening April 6, 2010:

Yay! We touched parity with the U.S. dollar yesterday. It’s just slightly more than the near-parity we’ve had for weeks. But once it hits, expect to wait longer at the border as people find more ways to justify iPads.

U of T’s Citizen Lab, headed by Ron Deibert, uncovered a spy network based in China that targeted Indian security and the Dalai Lama. It also stole info on Canadian passport info from the Indians. The entire Lab report is found here.

If you were bummed by news of infamous bike thief Igor Kenk being set free, at least a thousand bikes that didn’t make it back to owners, have found good homes. They’re going to the Cabbagetown Youth Centre, a native centre in Thunder Bay, and North Spirit Lake First Nation.

Things are not going well for Scouts and Girl Guides. While Scouts have been selling off prime camp land for years, the Girl Guides’ sales have come into the spotlight recently. In Ontario alone, Girl Guides are selling about half of their 33 camps.

Wikileaks, which had all those 9/11 text messages and phone records open to the public, has a video up of U.S. military helicopters firing on and killing Reuters employees. There were never any consequences for the gunners in the 2007 murders, as the U.S. concluded these gross 17-minutes followed rules of engagement.[rssbreak]
