What’s happening August 10, 2010:
Here’s a novel idea (chuckle). The Toronto Public Library is considering placing a lending vending kiosk full of books, CDs, and DVDs in Union Station. All you do is swipe your library card to get materials.
—
Free reading, especially if you’re about to hop on a train and forgot to pack your copy of Eat, Pray, Love, is great. Union Station being shutdown because of a maintenance workers’ strike – which could be happening by the time you read this – is not so great (for riders). [UPDATE: NO STRIKE]
—
But say there is no strike as you’re reading this, or you don’t use Union. Then you could lug your bike on a train and head to one of the three new locations added to the Bike Train initiative. They include Gravenhurst-Bracebridge, South River and Huntsville (if you want to see where your G8 cash went).
—
But let’s get on to the important stuff. Like pimples. Specifically, Justin Bieber – the new pimp for pimple cream/paste/pad/whatever Proactiv. I really thought Proactiv was a yoghurt.
—
Finally, Weezer is about to release a new record. Can it be worse than Raditude? Apparently it’s more fuzzy and less poppy. Actually who cares. Album’s called Hurley and the Rubenesque fellow from Lost is on the cover.
