Happening NOW: August 12, 2010

What’s happening August 12, 2010:

Good thing they called it The Imagine Festival, because you’re literally going to need to create the Woodstock-y fest in your dreams now that it’s been “postponed” until. . . forever, probably.

Clement’s starting to bend – he’s migrating questions from the long-form census he killed – for basically no discernable reason – to the mandatory short-form census. Is this a medium-form census now? Does he have nothing to do but bungle every census he touches this summer?

At least we’re not dealing with putting out fires like those in Russia. As if it weren’t bad enough, there are fears some fires near Ukraine are kicking up fallout dust from the Chernobyl catastrophe, which dusted not only neighbouring Russia, but swaths of land all over Europe.

We are, however, getting a new superbug from India.

And finally, ending with the sad and bizarre – a man in Buffalo was pulled over and police discovered he was marinating a live cat with oil and crushed peppers in his trunk.
