A disturbing story out of Peru alleges gangs targeted fat people on deserted roads, killed them, then sold their victims’ fat at $15,000 a litre – apparently to cosmetic companies in Europe. It’s not really a new concept. Nazis were into it. But why not just make a deal with a liposuction clinic? Can’t we learn anything from Fight Club?

I couldn’t get through the whole story, but it looks like DJs can’t make it through a song without boring young clubbers. To entertain the young musical attention deficit disorder (MADD) afflicted revelers, jockeys have to keep up by reaching the chorus and moving on.

Moving on, Virgin’s Richard Branson helped raise attention around Raising the Roof’s release of a study on youth homelessness in Canada by joining the press conference at Yonge Dundas Square with Glee star Cory Monteith. The report says Canada is trailing behind the US, UK, and Australia in developing a response.

Here’s hoping the recent opening of the city’s data can help in developing a crowd-sourced bike lane planning app like this one, called CycleTracks, currently designed with San Francisco’s Transportation Authority with the purpose of catering lane development to crucial routes.
