Happening NOW: Nov. 6, 2009

It’s no secret we’ve been asking for the Toronto Port Authority to disappear over the years. But who knew they’re also into erasing the past, in this case through re-writing board minutes, to suit themselves.

More rewriting at York where a group called Campus for Christ was planning an event “dedicated towards the homosexuality community [to] pray in love for those who seek freedom from this bondage that they may find Jesus and turn away from temptation.”

That didn’t sit well with the LGBT community, obviously. Campus for Christ has tried to erase their original intention, saying, “the event was to address the negative relationship that currently exists on a wide scale between the Christian and Homosexual communities.” They can start by not opening their mouths.

Let’s stick with the re-write theme. The Russian government is looking to hire a PR firm to spruce up Stalin’s image. “Well, I know it will be difficult,” an official is quoted as saying. Yeah with a death toll in the double digit millions, it’s hard to fathom who’ll be up for navigating this one.

Wanted to mention this yesterday, but CTV has a 24 hour delay posting The Colbert Report. Anyway, Al Gore has a new book called Our Choice coming out this month. Here’s “clip231579” the TV promo.

Finally, as you sit there memorizing H1N1 symptoms to use as sick day excuses, check out this Blockbuster employee who needed to avoid work so badly that he stabbed himself.
