“He was a regular face during Friday prayers, programs and Ramadan nights. His quiet dedication and willingness to help set a beautiful example for others. He had his whole life ahead of him, a future filled with hope, potential, and purpose,” reads the GoFundMe.

According to the Mecca Islamic Centre, Sarr’s funeral was held on Wednesday, and all members of the public were invited to attend.

“His character reflected humility, sincerity, and a strong sense of service to his faith and community,” the fundraiser said.

POLICE APPEAL FOR SUSPECTS IN SEPARATE KILLING OF TEEN BOY LAST MONTH

Sarr’s funeral comes the same day as Toronto Police urge a suspect in the fatal and unprovoked shooting of 15-year-old Jahkai Jack to come forward.

Jack was shot in the Mount Dennis area on June 7, according to police.

“He had his whole life ahead of him, he was not involved in any gangs or any kind of criminality, this was a completely unproved act of violence against a 15-year-old boy,” Detective Sergeant Phil Campbell said at a news conference on Wednesday, which was held near the scene of the shooting.

Campbell says he is asking the person responsible to do the right thing and turn themselves into the police, Campbell is also urging witnesses to come forward.

He adds that the suspect is a male who was wearing dark clothing but did not release further details on suspect information.

Police say they are working alongside investigators and the homicide unit to find the suspect.
