Litigious over limes

Brick can’t catch a break. Love it or hate it, the word “lime” tagged onto a beer is enough to fight in court according to Anheuser-Busch InBev, makers of Bud Light Lime.

Waterloo-based Brick is getting sued for marketing Red Baron Lime. Is it a stretch? Probably. But it’s also the continuation of a Labatt (under the Anheuser-Busch banner) v. Brick battle that saw Red Baron sued for looking too much like Brava.

And while I prefer my own version of lime beer – where I take a real lime, slice it, and put it, where it belongs, in a glass of water next to a bottle of Mill St.- this little attack on a local brewer by the world’s biggest beer bully should leave you feeling sour.[rssbreak]
