A 17-year-old boy is in critical condition after being stabbed on a Mississauga bus early this morning, and one woman is in police custody as a result.
At around 1:50 a.m. Peel Regional Police responded to reports of a stabbing on a MiWay bus in the area of Hurontario St. and Watline Dr. in Mississauga.
Police say the male victim was taken to a Toronto-area trauma centre, and a female suspect is in custody. The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition, with his condition later deteriorating to life-threatening.
Officers say that this was an isolated incident, and there is no threat to public safety.
Police say that other people were on the bus at the time, and they are reviewing the security camera footage of the incident and have taken statements from witnesses. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Peel Regional Police’s 11 Division, Criminal Investigation Bureau at 905-453-3311.
