NBA fans on both sides of the border are in awe of Jamal Murray’s win against the Lakers

Jamal Murray just took the Denver Nuggets to the next round of the playoffs and both American and Canadian NBA fans are excited.

Murray is currently 27-years old and grew up in Kitchener as a Jamaican immigrant. He’s been playing for the Denver Nuggets since 2016 and apparently could play basketball for hours by the age of three, according to the National Basketball Association (NBA).

According to the NBA website, Murray’s father put him through intense training while growing up in Ontario, including Kung fu and meditation exercises.

Murray represented Canada at the 2013 FIBA Americas Under-16 Championship in Uruguay and he won a silver medal at the 2016 Pan American Games for the Canadian national team.

Although the Nuggets and the Lakers kept going back and forth during most of the game, Murray scored a 3-pointer shot with a minute left to make the final score 108-106.

Yahoo Sports reported Murray put the Nuggets up 2-0 despite having a strained calf.

The Lakers also lost to the Nuggets last season and have lost the opening round of the playoffs twice in the last four years, according to Yahoo Sports.

Murray helped the Nuggets win over the Lakers for the fourth year in a row to qualify for the Western Conference semifinals where they will face the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Both Canadians and Americans are cheering Murray on.

“He’s become one of the players where if he shoots it in the clutch I just expect it to go in more than I wonder if he’ll miss,” one Reddit user said.

“Playoff Murray strikes again,” another person said.

Another Reddit user said Murray is a “Canadian god.”

Some people are posting the Canadian flag on social media to express their pride.

Other people are speculating if this might be Lebron’s last season playing ball.

“Lebron James was AMAZING tonight in what might have been his LAST 4th quarter as a Los Angeles Laker,” an X user said.

“Time for Lebron to tap out?” another user posted on X.
