Netflix describes the incident as “a violent crime that shook a quiet Canadian town” after intruders broke into the home of the Vietnamese family.

The victims, Huei Hann (father) and Bich Ha (mother), were described by neighbours and friends as being hospitable, generous, and hard-working.

SO, WHAT DID JENNIFER DO?

In November of 2010, Jennifer called for help and told dispatchers that armed gunmen broke into her house and demanded cash.

She said she was tied up, and both of her parents had been shot before the men ran off on foot.

Her father  managed to survive the shooting, but her mother, however, was fatally shot.

Soon the truth came out and exposed Jennifer for hiring the men to kill her parents with the help of her boyfriend, Daniel Wong.

Her motive? Apparently her parents forbid her from spending time with her boyfriend, who was also a drug dealer and a criminal, after she lied about graduating college.

Eventually, she confessed to hiring the hitmen, and with the help of police interrogation footage and testimony from those connected to the investigation, viewers will get to see  behind the scenes of how everything unfolded.

Jennifer was sentenced in 2015 to life in prison with no parole for 25 years for first-degree murder, and life for attempted murder.

Today, she sits behind bars and maintains her innocence.
