NOW Magazine is delivering to homes across Toronto

Our annual Readers’ Choice issue is a chance for NOW Magazine readers to tell us everything they love about Toronto – from restaurants and retail stores to drag performers, parks and politicians.

As the pandemic continues to change all aspects of life in Toronto, we felt it was more important than ever to highlight businesses and cultural organizations struggling to make it through 2020 – and beyond. That’s why we want to ensure this issue gets into as many reader hands as possible.

In the spring, we scaled back print distribution to TTC and GO stations. For the next four weeks, we’re increasing our distribution and delivering to doorsteps in the Junction, Roncesvalles, Bloordale and Upper Jarvis, in addition to public transit newsstands. With more people working from home and the second wave in full effect, we want to reach readers where they are – safely at home. We’ll rotate delivery to new neighbourhoods every four weeks.

Though the times change, our readers have retained their quirky tastes in the quarter-century since NOW first launched the poll. Our readers have always picked a mix of mainstream and independent businesses, and we couldn’t be more proud to have Pai’s Chef Nuit Regular on the cover of our 25th anniversary Readers’ Choice issue, a small business owner whose ingenuity – and consistently delicious food – is something the city needs more than ever this year.

We’ve also added new categories to reflect the ways people interact with local culture and business, including Best Drive-In Venue, Best Virtual Fitness Instructor, Best Online Party Series and Best Face Mask Designer. In the spirit of the poll, we welcome reader suggestions for new categories to add next year.
