Catherine Clark’s Sunday columns in the Toronto Star make us want to get high and meditate on the futility of the corporate media. This week federal Tory leader Joe Clark’s privileged daughter let loose her pointed crayon at OCAP. Not exactly Michelle Landsberg when it comes to depth of knowledge, Clark’s take on the anti-poverty movement falls somewhere between Mel Lastman’s and Mel Brooks’s. While we’re not annoyed at OCAP’s “deplorable” tactics, we do weep for all those frustrated journalism students who must tear their hair out every time they read Clark.
