You may have a high chance of winning the lottery if your name is among this list of luckiest names in Canada.

This new study reveals the luckiest names in the country based on lottery wins. To come to its findings, CanadaCasinos analyzed all available winners’ data (nearly 2,500) from Canada’s five lottery corporations since 2022 and looked at the percentage of wins that took place per location, name, and month of the year for each separate corporation.

These five corporations include: Atlantic Lottery, Loto-Québec, Western Canada Lottery Corporation (WCLC), Ontario Lottery and Gaming (OLG) and British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC).

CanadaCasinos found that David is the luckiest name in the country.

“David is the luckiest name in Canada, with 16 per cent (34) lottery wins in 2022. This is followed by Robert (32) and Daniel (29) in second and third place,” the study read.

When it comes to female names, Diane and Linda tied for the luckiest name in Canada with 15 winners each. The study says they have a 24.5 per cent chance to win and a seven per cent chance overall, compared to other women’s names.
