A new aesthetic and vintage-esque cafe is opening in the city’s Queen West neighbourhood this week, and they’re giving away free flowers to celebrate the grand opening.
Botanic Coffee & Caphe is located at 662 Queen St. W and is opening its doors to their garden and book-lover’s dream inspired shop on Thursday. With any purchase from their signature menu, free flowers will be available to pick up.
“A little space and garden are blooming in the heart of the city. A place to slow down, sip something beautiful, and breathe. Botanic Coffee & Caphe is more than just a coffee shop, it’s an experience, a space to gather, and a moment to reconnect with yourself,” the cafe’s Instagram wrote, for their first official post.
The grand opening event starts at 12 p.m, while regular hours are 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays, and 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, where you can catch classic takes on coffee, matcha and delectable pastries.
Some lucky customers were able to take a peek at the new cafe, taking along the online world with a preview of what to expect by posting videos online.
One Instagram user said, “the whole space feels like a mix of a vintage library and a garden,” claiming there are books, album covers, and greenery throughout.
They also noted that the space is very spacious compared to other local cafes, and shouting out the authentic matcha straight from Japan.
Another user noted that Botanic is one of the most aesthetic spots she’s been to in the city, adding that “the garden-inspired decor makes it feel so calm and inviting – perfect for getting work done or catching up with friends.”
The matcha, she said, is also served very frothy, rich in the signature green colours, and in a wine glass — shouting out the lychee rose matcha that is “earthy, sweet, and floral.”
Online reactions on their Instagram showcase the excitement of Torontonians for this up-and-coming coffee and matcha bar.
“Wow hats off to the interior designers! One of the nicest looking cafes in Toronto for sure,” one user commented.
“Drinks look insane, the place looks unreal, WOW!!!” another user said.
“Omg hello!! So happy to see that you’re opening in #WestQueenWest, can’t wait to come by!” The West Queen West BIA also commented.
