A viral video has Tim Hortons customers concerned about the coffee chain’s health protocols after workers were seen pulling uncovered baked goods from the trunk of a car.
On Sunday, TikTok user @caroann33 posted a video from outside a Tims location at a Circle K gas station in Scarborough. In the video, two employees can be seen taking out pastries from the back of a vehicle before walking straight into the store.

“I won’t be buying from Tim Hortons again. I can’t believe they put the food in the trunk of the car UNCOVERED,” reads the caption of the video.
In the comments, other users say this is clearly a health and safety violation and some are even vowing to never visit the coffee and donut establishment again.
“That’s it for me..no more Tim Hortons..start making my coffee at home before leaving,” one TikTok user said.
“Yeah, I’m pretty much done with them, but done with them for MY health,” another user said.
“I think the point is that they are not following proper health and safety measures for transporting food,” another comment read.

The video has amassed more than 386,000 views with over 2,000 comments at the time of publication.
In response, Tim Hortons confirms health and safety standards were not followed in this case and that it is investigating the restaurant in question.
“Tim Hortons restaurant owners and team members take pride in baking and preparing guests’ favourite baked goods fresh in-restaurant throughout the day. On occasions when a restaurant is running low on products and is being helped by another restaurant, there are strict standards and specialized equipment required to ensure that product quality and freshness are not compromised – standards which were not followed in this incident,” the chain said in a statement to Now Toronto on Tuesday.
“We are in contact with the restaurant owner to investigate what occurred and to ensure our strict standards are always met in the future,” it continued.
Now Toronto has reached out to the alleged Tim Hortons location and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) for comment but have yet to receive a response.
