The Toronto Blue Jays are going to the World Series for the first time in more than 30 years, and fans are buzzing with excitement.

In an intense Game 7, the Jays won 4-3 against the Seattle Mariners in the American League Championship Series (ALCS).

In the bottom of the seventh, outfielder George Springer hit a three-run home run giving the Jays a 4-3 lead. 

Fans online were quick to react to Springer’s electrifying moment.

After a well-fought series, first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has been named the ALCS MVP.

The Jays are now heading to the World Series to face the Los Angeles Dodgers who swept the Milwaukee Brewers in the National League Championship Series (NLCS).

Toronto politicians are reacting to the win online.

Mayor Olivia Chow says the city is ready to watch the championship.

Prime Minister Mark Carney also tweeted his congratulations, “ON TO THE NEXT. @BlueJays WORLD SERIES BOUND.”

And Ontario Premier Doug Ford said on X, “Congratulations to our @BlueJays! All of Canada is cheering you on to the World Series!”

Meanwhile, Canadians can’t contain their excitement online.

“This is amazing. Remember 1993 so clearly. Joe Carter hitting that home run. We going back to that let’s go,” one Jays fan said on X.

“Congratulations Toronto Blue Jays on going to your first World Series in 32 years! Time to take down the mighty Dodgers. Blue Jays in 7,” another said.

“Absolutely incredible run and the tears are real for these players, management and for the fans of this team. I’m going to celebrate because this has been my team since I was a kid. What a finish!!!!,” one user said.

Even Mariners fans are congratulating the Jays.

“Congratulations Blue Jays from a dedicated Mariner fan! You earned this! I’m so happy for you!!!” one X user said.

“As a Mariner’s fan, this post season has been the most exciting baseball of my life. You fought hard. Thank you for an amazing series and some baseball I will remember for the rest of my life. Best of luck against the Dodgers! Looking forward to seeing you again in 2026!” another said.

The last time Toronto played in the World Series was 1993, when they won the title for a second year in a row.
