What to know

  • TTC Line 2 between St. George and Broadview will close at 10 p.m. Friday, with shuttle buses replacing subways.
  • No Barrie GO trains between Downsview Park and Union from Oct. 31–Nov. 1; shuttle buses will operate, and TTC Line 1 remains an option.
  • Kitchener GO line sees limited replacement buses and a cancelled late-night train from Union; check schedules before heading out.
  • Stouffville Line avoids a full closure, but southbound trains from Old Elm will be delayed up to 27 minutes, and some weekend trains will be replaced by buses that skip certain stops.

This Halloweekend, the real scares aren’t haunted houses or costume parties; it’s the major TTC and GO Train service disruptions that could throw a wrench in your plans.

TTC outages

Halloweekend isn’t off to a good start. Riders planning to go out on Friday, Oct. 30, will need to leave home earlier than the party starts, as there will be no subway service on Line 2 between St. George and Broadview starting at 10 p.m. If you’re okay with being fashionably late, shuttle buses will operate.

Trains will run on their regular schedule between Allandale Waterfront/Aurora GO and Downsview GO, and shuttle buses will replace most regular scheduled trains affected by the closure.

Riders impacted by the closure can use TTC Line 1 to travel between Downsview Park and Union Station.

Kitchener line

Taking the Kitchener line? Prepare for delays. Due to planned construction, only select replacement buses will run between Stratford or Kitchener GO and the Hwy 407 Bus Terminal due to planned construction.

The late-night 11:34 p.m. train from Union Station to Mount Pleasant GO will not run, but a GO bus will serve all stops from Union to Bramalea GO.

Those who board the train between Mount Pleasant and Mount Dennis GO will be lucky, as business will run as usual.

Stouffville Line

Thankfully, the Stouffville Line has no closures, but planned construction will cause delays.

All southbound trains departing Old Elm will depart as much as 27 minutes later than scheduled.

GO will replace most regularly scheduled weekend trains with bus service, but these buses won’t stop at Milliken, Agincourt, or Kennedy GO.
