Money loves power. And while the Chretien Liberals in Ottawa continue to rake it in, their second-string Ontario cousins just can’t seem to connect with the Harris Tories’ generous corporate patrons. So, we found provincial Liberal leader Dalton McGuinty’s recent vague pronouncements on curbing business contributions a little suspect. The philosophical premier-in-waiting (and waiting) expounds that “if you are receiving a lot of money it is bound at some point to influence your action.” Funny how your actions are also influenced when you’re stiffed.
