Thank goodness the ever-vigilant members of the Ontario Film Review Board are protecting young minds from the corrupting effects of, er, corn. Hybrid, a documentary now showing at the Carlton about one Iowa farmer’s obsession with — you guessed it — hybrid corn, was recently stamped with a PG rating. In their two reasonings, the OFRB noted “mild sexual (plant) innuendo” and “psychological impact may cause adverse effects in children.” Oh, get your mind out of the kernels!
