UpFront: Not a Bernardo Tale

Rating: NNNNN

Toronto’s Norstar Entertainment just can’t pass up a good thriller. The film production company faced a public outcry last year when word got out that they were planning to turn author Stephen Williams’s controversial Paul Bernardo book, Invisible Darkness, into a movie, reportedly with Jason Priestley in the lead role. Now they’re shooting another film in T.O., coincidentally titled Darkness Falling, which also stars – you got it – Jason Priestley. So Darkness Falling isn’t about sex slayer Bernardo at all, but rather about a woman who’s searching for her sister’s killer and is drawn into the seductive and illicit underworld of bondage clubs, where she meets the mysterious former 90210 heartthrob, who plays Michael, not Paul.
