The vultures are out in Toronto’s newspaper war. On the day Conrad Black unloaded the National Post, columnist Christie Blatchford returned home to find Globe and Mail columnist David MacFarlane camped out on her doorstep with a phone number for Globe editor Richard Addis. Blatchford and Addis talked briefly, but Blatchford made it clear that she was staying put. Black’s gone, but staff allegiance to Post editor Ken Whyte may be stronger than Addis anticipated. Besides, who the hell wants to write for a telephone company?
