Video captures Bad Boy customer having meltdown over refund policy after company filed for bankruptcy

A video is circulating online of a man throwing furniture inside a Bad Boy store and yelling at the sales associates, following news that the company filed for bankruptcy. 

The video was allegedly captured at the Bad Boy location in Whitby.

In the video, posted by TikTok user @tappslilly, the man is seen throwing furniture, repeatedly asking the sales associates where his money is and telling them, “My daughter doesn’t have a bed because of you.” 

The video has since been shared on various social media platforms. People are reacting to the video on X, formerly known as Twitter, and one user (@tfer68) said, “Don’t blame him at all. He’s lost the money he put down to buy furniture.”

Another user (@erwingerrits) commented, “Not really the employees’ fault, though I do understand the anger.”

On Nov. 9, the popular Canadian furniture chain filed a Notice of Intention under the bankruptcy act to commence restructuring proceedings. 

“We regret to inform you that as a result of the commencement of the NOI proceedings, Bad Boy is unable to refund those deposits or to complete those purchases,” a statement by KSV Advisory representing Bad Boy said. 

The company encourages customers that have concerns with their deposits to send an email to customers@nooobody.com or to badboy@ksvadvisory.com

“Customers who have paid a deposit by credit card, should contact their credit card company to obtain a refund,” KSV Advisory added.
