Toronto is buzzing with winning energy ahead of Game 7 of the team’s series against the Seattle Mariners.
After a frustrating loss on Friday night, the Jays secured a 6-2 win during Game 6 of the ALCS against Seattle on Sunday night.
Tonight’s winner-takes-it-all game starts at 8:08 p.m. ET with the champion heading to the World Series to face the L.A. Dodgers.
Superstar first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. could barely contain his excitement while speaking to a reporter last night.
“I [was] born ready, and I want it all for the city,” Guerrero said, with a million-dollar smile.
The 26-year-old has been a major component in Toronto’s journey to the World Series. Among other great plays, Sunday’s game saw the Canadian-Dominican player hit a home run for the sixth time this month, tying former players Joe Carter and José Bautista for the most home runs in franchise history.
Guerrero, who made his MLB debut in 2019 when he was signed to the Jays, is nominated for a Gold Glove Award for the season.

In a video posted to the Blue Jays’ social media channels, the team shares their thoughts on the Jays’ superstar ahead of Game 7.
“He’s a game changer in our lineup, he’s a spark plug on defence, he’s spectacular,” fellow player Trey Yesavage says of Guerrero.
“Being the face of a franchise is a pretty unique situation for a 26-year-old dude,” Coach John Schneider says in the clip.
“This team, this group of men, you never know where the journey is going to lead. It leads to a Game 7 in the ALCS and that’s freaking awesome.”
Meanwhile, fans are also giving Guerrero his flowers online.
“This is why he got the big contract, because he delivers when it matters most,” wrote one X user.
“He’s gonna own every single hitting record on the team when he retires,” a Redditor speculated.
Meanwhile, even the haters can’t deny that he is killing it.
“Man.. as much as I dislike Vlad and the Blue Jay, I must admit you guys put up way more of a fight than anyone could’ve imagined,” an X user admitted.
FIRST TIME IN A LONG TIME
The last time Toronto competed for the title was in 993. Meanwhile, the Mariners have never been to the World Series.
