Watch Out for the PR Sharks

Rating: NNNNN

We were a little perplexed when Boyd Neil, senior vice-president of the Canadian arm of multinational public relations giant Hill and Knowlton, told the recent gathering of international police chiefs in Toronto to watch out for the news media because they’re “sharks,” “opportunists” and not to be trusted. We figure that in a moment of temporary memory loss Mr. Neil forgot he was working for Hill and Knowlton, perhaps the most opportunistic, manipulative PR firm on the planet (remember the Kuwaiti babies whopper during the Gulf War?) — and we’re not just saying that to make ourselves look good.
