Whether you’re planning a full day of festivities or simply looking for the best spot to catch the night’s display, several Canada Day fireworks events are taking place across Toronto on July 1.

Ashbridges Bay Park
Location: 1561 Lake Shore Blvd. E.
Toronto’s flagship Canada Day fireworks show returns to Ashbridges Bay, one of the city’s most popular viewing spots for the annual celebration. The fireworks display begins at 10 p.m.
Amesbury Park
Location: 151 Culford Rd.
The community celebration runs from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., featuring food vendors, family-friendly activities and live entertainment before wrapping up with a fireworks display at 10 p.m.
Stan Wadlow Park
Location: 888 Cosburn Ave.
East York’s annual Canada Day celebration runs from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and includes live performances, community booths, children’s activities and a fireworks show to end the evening.
Mel Lastman Square
Location: 5100 Yonge St.
Festivities run from noon to 10 p.m. and feature live music, a kids’ zone, food vendors and a marketplace, with fireworks presented in partnership with the Yonge North York BIA.
Milliken Park
Location: 4325 McCowan Rd.
Residents in Scarborough can head to Milliken Park to enjoy a Canada Day fireworks display as part of the city’s holiday celebrations. The fireworks begin at 10 p.m.

Brampton
Location: Chinguacousy Park, 9050 Bramalea Rd.
Time: 10:00 p.m.
Brampton’s annual Canada Day celebration is one of the largest in the GTA, featuring a full afternoon and evening of live entertainment, family activities, food vendors, inflatables and a beer garden before the fireworks cap off the night at 10 p.m. This year’s event is headlined by country stars Lee Brice and Emerson Drive.
Mississauga
Location: Celebration Square, 300 City Centre Drive
Time: 10:00 p.m.
Celebration Square hosts one of Mississauga’s biggest Canada Day parties, with live music, cultural performances, family-friendly activities and more than 30 food trucks and vendors throughout the afternoon and evening. The festivities conclude with a fireworks display beginning around 10 p.m.
York Region
Vaughan
Location: Canada’s Wonderland, 1 Canada’s Wonderland Dr
Time: 10:00 p.m.
Guests visiting Canada’s Wonderland can cap off their Canada Day with the park’s signature fireworks spectacular, featuring a custom-designed display synchronized to music. The fireworks are included with park admission as part of the park’s multi-day Canada Day celebration, which also features live entertainment and themed activities.
Markham
Location: Downtown Markham, 179 Enterprise Blvd
Time: 10:00 p.m.
Downtown Markham’s Canada Day celebration offers an afternoon and evening packed with live entertainment, food trucks, kids’ activities and community programming before a fireworks finale at 10 p.m. The event also features live performances, including Canadian R&B star Jully Black.
Durham Region
Oshawa
Location: Lakeview Park, 55 Lakeview Park Ave
Time: 10:00 p.m.
Oshawa’s free Canada Day celebration returns to Lakeview Park with a full lineup of family-friendly entertainment, local performers, food vendors and interactive activities along the waterfront. The evening wraps up with a fireworks display over Lake Ontario beginning at 10 p.m.
Pickering
Location: Kinsmen Park, 705 Sandy Beach Rd.
Time: 10:00 p.m.
Pickering’s Canada Day celebrations begin earlier in the day at Esplanade Park before shifting to Bay Ridges Kinsmen Park for the evening fireworks display. Visitors can enjoy live entertainment, family activities and food vendors before the sky lights up over Frenchman’s Bay.
Worth the drive
If you’re willing to venture beyond Toronto, several neighbouring communities are hosting some of the GTA’s biggest Canada Day celebrations, complete with live concerts, food vendors and spectacular fireworks.
Richmond Hill
Location: Richmond Green Park (1300 Elgin Mills Rd. E.)
Fireworks: 10 p.m.
Richmond Hill’s Canada Day celebration is one of York Region’s largest, featuring live entertainment on multiple stages, food vendors, a midway, family activities and one of the region’s biggest pyro-musical fireworks displays. This year’s festivities include a headline performance by Fefe Dobson before the fireworks begin at 10 p.m.
Burlington
Location: Spencer Smith Park
Drone show: 9:30 p.m.
Fireworks: Immediately following
If you’re looking for a waterfront celebration, Burlington’s Canada Day festivities at Spencer Smith Park feature live music, family-friendly activities, food vendors and a drone light show before fireworks light up the Lake Ontario shoreline. It’s one of the region’s signature Canada Day events and well worth the drive from Toronto.
Ajax
Location: Ajax Fairgrounds (1955 Audley Rd. N.)
Fireworks: 10 p.m.
Ajax has moved its annual Canada Day celebration to the Ajax Fairgrounds, where visitors can enjoy live entertainment, cultural performances, children’s activities, a marketplace, food vendors, a sensory zone and a fireworks finale at 10 p.m. Organizers note the event is car-free, with shuttle options available.
