Looking for some fun on Christmas Day? Here are 8 things you can do in Toronto

Now Toronto compiled a list of eight activities in the city open on Christmas Day so you can have some fun with friends and family.

If you’re staying in the city this Christmas Day and looking for something to do, Now Toronto has you covered.

Here is a list of places across the city that are open on Dec. 25 for you to spend quality time in good company.

The Toronto Zoo

Address: 2000 Meadowvale Rd.

Christmas Day hours: 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Last entry: 3 p.m.

Admission: $20.62 – $29.45 (depending on age)

This year, we’re expecting a relatively mild Christmas Day with no active weather. What better way to take advantage than to visit the Toronto Zoo along its festive 10-kilometre of walking trails. Bundle up and visit over 3,000 animals at the zoo. You can even warm up in the tropical pavilions in between your visits to polar bears and Arctic wolves. But keep in mind certain species may not be visible during the winter months. Tickets are available for purchase only on the website. Admission is free for children 2-years-old and younger.

Allan Gardens Conservatory

Last entry: 4:45 p.m.

Admission: Free

Allan Gardens is an indoor botanical garden featuring five greenhouses. The Northwest House featuring cacti and succulents; the Northeast House featuring tropical plants, East Hours with palm trees; Southwest House with orchids and bromeliads; and Southeast House with seasonal flowers and a Koi pond.

Riverdale Farm

Christmas Day hours: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Riverdale Farm is a working farm hidden in Toronto’s Cabbagetown, featuring 7.5-acres of gardens, ponds, trails, and fun activities. You can visit farm animals like chickens, horses, and goats. But keep in mind, despite the animal presence, pets other than service animals are not allowed.

Ripley’s Aquarium

Address: 288 Bremner Blvd.

Christmas Day hours: 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.

Last entry: 8 p.m.

Admission: $13.50 – $50 (depending on age)

Ripley’s Aquarium is a world-class attraction in the heart of Downtown Toronto, featuring a 135,000 square feet space filled with thousands of marine and freshwater creatures. Here you can walk through an underwater tunnel, touch jellyfish and enjoy interactive activities that are fun for kids and adults alike. Admission is free for children 2 years old and younger.

Cineplex theatres

Address: multiple locations

Christmas Day hours: varies by location

Most Cineplex theatres will be open Christmas Day. You can check what movies are playing in which theatres directly on the Cineplex website. Currently available at the box office are Timothy Chalamet’s Marty Supreme, Sydney Sweeney’s The Housemaid, Zootopia 2, and Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, among others. Christmas Day is also the day Paul Rudd and Jack Black’s Anaconda hits the theatres.

CN Tower

Address: 290 Bremner Blvd.

Christmas Day hours: 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.

Admission: $18 – $47 (depending on age)

Take in the city from Toronto’s CN Tower. Both the observation deck and EdgeWalk are available on Christmas Day, but its panoramic 360 The Restaurant is closed. You also have the option to purchase a combo deal for Ripley’s Aquarium and the CN Tower through the ‘Sea the Sky’ package.

Comedy shows at Backroom Comedy Club

Backroom Comedy Club is tasked with making people laugh even on Christmas Day, offering eight shows – four at 8 p.m. and four at 10 p.m. – including Roast of 2025, Toronto is… Comedians telling you how they feel about Toronto, X-Mas Stand Up Comedy Show and Thursday Night at Backroom Comedy Club. Virtual reality experiences at Level Up Reality

What better time to try something new than on Christmas Day? Level Up Reality offers VR arcade games of various genres including action, horror, and sports.
