A Michelin-recommended restaurant in Toronto co-owned by “The Bear” star Matty Matheson is closing its doors for good.

Fonda Balam is a Mexican restaurant located near Bathurst and Dundas Streets and has been open for the past three years.

However, in an Instagram post on Sunday, restaurant co-owners Kate Chomyshyn and Julio Guajardo announced the establishment will be closing permanently in the coming days.

“We wanted to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude for your incredible love and support during these last days of Fonda. As we continue to pour our hearts into everything we do, we kindly ask for your patience and kindness towards our amazing staff,” the post reads.

“Your understanding and support mean the world to us. We are truly grateful for your patience as we navigate through this transition. Together, we can make these last days of Fonda truly memorable and filled with love,” it continued.

The spot was known for having the best lengua and birria tacos and their homemade tortillas, according to the Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand list.

The owners say they have been overwhelmed with an outpouring of support since the announcement and are still working to ensure customers are best-served.

“End of an era! Upwards & onwards boys,” one comment read.

“I’m so heartbroken about this,” another user said.

“Awh man I was hoping you were running through summer at least,” another comment read.

Fonda Balam has yet to specify its official last day, so fans still have an opportunity to check out the restaurant while they still can.

Fonda Balam is located at 802 Dundas St. West and is open seven days a week from 4 to 10 p.m.
