Ontario Provincial Police gave residents something to laugh about after it seized a gun that looked like it walked straight off a country movie set.

However, authorities believe it’s no laughing matter as the gun was apparently loaded when police confiscated it during a traffic stop.

According to police, in the morning of Mar. 15 they pulled over “an erratic vehicle” on Highway 406 in St.Catharines, and the driver was a 27-year-old man from Brampton.

As a result, the accused is facing weapons and driving charges and was held in custody, pending a bail hearing.

As you can imagine, one look at the antique firearm was all it took for users to go into a deeply unserious frenzy.

Some said the tape around the gun was giving circa 1950, while others said the pistol was surely older than Canada.

“Was he a time traveller?” one X user asked.

“This gun needs to be put in the Toronto museum! Got that rusted vintage look too!” someone else said.

“Wild Wild west,” another chimed in.
