A documentary on Celine Dion is coming out next month and will detail the Quebec singer’s health struggles in recent years.
The two-minute trailer for “I Am: Celine Dion,” released by Amazon MGM Studios today, opens up with the vocal powerhouse flawlessly belting a note, followed by her playfully asking if the sound man is OK.
As her 2001 hit “I’m Alive” plays in the background, footage of past performances and home videos of intimate family moments are shown before the screen goes black and a snippet of a 911 call for Dion is heard.
“I’ve been diagnosed with a very rare neurological disorder, and I wasn’t ready to say anything before,” she said in the trailer. “But I’m ready now.”
The singer was diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome in 2022, which forced her to cancel the remaining 42 dates of her Courage World Tour that would have run until April 2024. The debilitating chronic condition causes muscle stiffness and severe spasms that prevented her from performing, according to her website.

“It’s hard to cancel a show,” she said over clips of her physical therapy training. “I’m working hard every day, but I have to admit, it’s been a struggle.”
Since her diagnosis, Dion has avoided the limelight. Her last public sighting before the trailer was a surprise appearance at the 2024 Grammys in February, where she presented the Album of the Year award to Taylor Swift. She was met with a standing ovation.
“I miss it so much,” she said tearfully in the trailer. “The people, I miss them.”
The pop icon makes one thing clear: no matter what, she’ll continue to do her best to get back to performing.
“If I can’t run, I’ll walk. If I can’t walk, I’ll crawl,” she proclaimed.
“I won’t stop.”
The documentary is set to air on June 25.
