CNE food lineup is a culinary carnival complete with a footlong samosa, deep fried pickle oreos, and wasabi ice cream

The CNE is back and its line-up of new foods feature some of the craziest ones yet, from deep-fried pickle oreos and wasabi ice cream.

Giant Samosa

Bombay Spice Street is offering a foot-long version of one of the city’s favourite potato filled snacks. 

Karaage Soft-Shell Crab on a Stick

Here’s your chance to munch on an entire fried whole crab jabbed onto a wooden spear to hold while walking around Exhibition Place. 

Each bite is filled with crunchy goodness from deep-fried flakes and a saucy coating of ketchup, mayo, and hot sauce.

Wasabi Ice Cream

This cool new treat might fill alternate taste buds with sweet and spicy – enter wasabi ice cream. The popular sushi condiment is infused with soft-serve vanilla ice cream sitting atop a charcoal cone with a finishing touch of orange sugar pearls and roasted seaweed.

SpICE Cream Chorizo Fries

These fries are one of the craziest concoctions on the CNE menu yet. As part of a Vietnamese and Mexican fusion food truck, these fries are tossed in hot oil with cheese, chorizo sausage, and dollops of vanilla ice cream poured over.

Sweet or spicy Mochi Funnel Cake

This funnel cake will only be available for 18 days during the fair and it’s something both the eyes and mouth can’t miss. The mystery treat is a fluffy powdered mochi dough that’s either sweet or spicy while being topped with strawberries and cream.

Fruity Cereal Chicken Tenders

If you skipped breakfast while rushing to the CNE, fear not because these crispy chicken tenders are coated with fruity pebbles for a sweet and savoury experience.

Tzatziki Cheesecake

This Mediterranean take on a New York-style cheesecake is topped with tzatziki buttercream and pita chips for you to dip into one crunch at a time.

Kool-Aid Fried Chicken Sandwich

A classic fried chicken sandwich is drenched in a Kool-Aid reduction sauce, creating a bright red hue wedged in a classic hamburger bun. 

Crookie Sandwich 

This hybrid pastry sandwich has three delicious parts. The sandwich includes a  ooey gooey cookie, a flaky croissant filled with mayo, and last but not least, a  extra fried chicken sandwich.
