Crave’s Queer love series, Heated Rivalry, has been all the rage this year, and Canadian reality TV star Dom Gabriel tells Now Toronto that he is hoping to be cast in the show’s second season.
The Canadian series Heated Rivalry is based on the Game Changers novel series from Saskatchewan author Rachel Reid, following two rival professional hockey players whose secret relationship unfolds over several years.
Director Jacob Tierney has adapted the book into Crave’s hit series, catching the eye of Netflix reality star Dom Gabriel.

Gabriel told Now Toronto that his desire to be in the show originated from seeing fanfictions of himself involved in the series’ storyline.
“Fandom is pretty crazy,” he said. “I started getting tagged in like these fanfics of people using my photo for [Zane Boodram.]”
For context, Boodram is a character from the Game Changers book, a professional hockey player for the fictional team the Ottawa Centaurs, who is best friends with one of the series’ main characters, Ilya Rozanov.

Gabriel explained that after working with Tierney on Traitors Canada and seeing his resemblance to the book’s character, he believes he’d be perfect for this role.
“I’m a fan of the show. I like the show. I know how to ice skate. I’m a big fan of hockey, and I was like, ‘Screw it, I want the role. Give it to me.’,” he explained
So, he posted online about the role, and fans began sharing that they agreed that he would make the perfect Boodram.
“Oh Zane… is that you?” one TikTok user commented.
“If they don’t cast you, I’m gonna boycott season two,” another added.
“The way I am so invested in this campaign, please Jacob Tierney!!” one user said.
“I’m here for the vision… I’ll be following so I can see the cast announcement.,” another wrote.
