
Sunshine is in the forecast this weekend which means this is your time to get out and explore what the city has to offer.
This weekend, there’s a Meta Expo, a Gem Expo, the Beaches Jazz Festival, and OssFest, among other amazing events. Here’s what you can check out:
Friday, July 26:
Meta Expo and Gem Expo
Get in touch with your spiritual side and shop for gorgeous gemstones at Toronto’s Meta Expo and Gem Expo. The Gem Expo will showcase handmade and collectible stones from almost 75 local and international vendors around the world, including selenite from Morocco, kunzite from Afghanistan, larimar from Dominican Republic, rubies from Sri Lanka and more. Meanwhile, the Meta Expo will feature spiritual healers, psychic readings, mediums, reiki, metaphysical supplies and wellness products, to name a few. The three-day psychic and gem conventions will take place at the Hyatt Regency Hotel from July 26-28.
Adult day passes are $10 each, weekend passes are $20, while students and seniors can enter for $5 and kids 12 and under are free. One ticket will grant access to both shows with over 75 vendors combined and include $10 in coupons to spend at the expo.

Beaches Jazz Festival: Queen Street East Streetfest
The Beaches Jazz Festival is shutting down Queen Street East for a day filled with soulful music. The festival includes over 30 different acts performing throughout the strip, and all ages are invited to attend and enjoy the blues. It’s free to attend and is happening from 6 to 11 p.m.

A Paint Party – Lauryn Hill Edition
Bring your friends to a paint party where you can create art while listening to the timeless tracks of Lauryn Hill. Visitors are encouraged to let the artist and the atmosphere inspire their artistic side. The painting session will be guided by an instructor who will provide pre-drawn guidelines for your canvas to make the class easy to follow. The session is from 7 p.m to 9:30 p.m at the Artbox Studio & Gallery. Tickets are $39.95 each.

Saturday, July 27:
Festii: A Celebration of Creative Arts and Music
For the first time ever, Festii, a new premier creative arts and music festival, will take over The Parkdale Hall all weekend long with music, art and culture. Festii will showcase a star-studded lineup of renowned Filipino artists and rising stars across the globe such as Jason Dhakal and DJ Butta B, along with various interactive activities and local vendors. It’s free to attend and is from 10 p.m to 2 a.m.

OssFest
One of the city’s favourite street festivals, OssFest, is back. For the sixth year in a row, the festival will take place along the Ossington Strip between Dundas St. W. and Queen St. W. where you can shop from local businesses, enjoy live entertainment and eat at over 25 extended patios. It starts at 11 a.m and ends at midnight.

Light: Visionary Perspectives Exhibition
In honour of the Aga Khan Museum’s 10th anniversary, the museum presents a new exhibition called “Light: Visionary Perspectives.” This exhibition includes contemporary installations by prominent international and Canadian artists, including Anila Quayyum Agha, Tannis Nielsen, Olafur Eliasson and more. It goes into how light shapes history and influences one’s understanding of the world. It’s available from 10 a.m to 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 each for adults.

Canadian Multicultural Peruvian Fest 2024

Experience being a “Peruvian for the Day” at the Canadian Multicultural Peruvian Fest 2024 happening at Yonge-Dundas Square. The free festival is a celebration of Peruvian heritage, culture and cuisine. There will be lots of free, family-friendly entertainment, such as Peruvian and Latin American dances. It begins at 10 a.m. and ends at 9 p.m.

SCARBOROUGH FOLK FEST
Those who love folk music should head to the Scarborough Folk Fest at Thomson Memorial Park. Now in its third year, the festival connects newcomers and community members for a weekend of traditional and contemporary folk music. It starts at 2 p.m. and ends at 10 p.m.

The Wedding Party: A Mystery Dinner Experience
Secret City Adventures And Old Mill Toronto is hosting The Wedding Party: A Mystery Dinner Experience. Guests who attend can expect escape room puzzles with live dinner theatre leading up to a show-stopping performance. The night includes nine performers and a three-course dinner service. It runs from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and tickets range from $120 – $185.
