March break may be over but the fun doesn’t have to stop. This weekend, there’s tons of great events happening in the GTA for the whole family to enjoy. 

There’s art exhibitions, an anime market, a game expo and so much more. Here’s what you can check out:

Friday, Mar. 22:

Mahalia: In Real Life

British singer-songwriter Mahalia is performing at HISTORY on Friday at 7 p.m. for her In Real Life tour. The singer’s latest project, In Real Life, explores the lessons she learned from her past relationships and navigating a newfound independence. The singer is also known for her hits such as “Sober,” “I Wish I Missed My Ex” and “Do Not Disturb,” among others.

Angel’s Bone

Experience Toronto’s newest opera “Angel’s Bone” created by Du Yun and Royce Vavrek. The Pulitzer Prize-winning show delves into the realities of human trafficking between two vulnerable youths and the resilience of survivors. The contemporary opera was made to spark conversation and awareness around the human trafficking of youth. Tickets are $45 and the show starts at 7:30 p.m.

Timeless Toronto: A Visual Journey Through the 6ix Art Exhibition

Looking to learn more about the city? Then visit the art exhibition Timeless Toronto: A Visual Journey Through the 6ix at Assembly Hall. It explores Toronto’s urban landscape and its cultural significance. It’s a free event and it’s happening from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Saturday, Mar. 23: 

Royal Ontario Museum Free Admission

The Royal Ontario Museum is offering free admission to its entire museum all weekend long to mark its 110th anniversary. Included with this special promotion is access to its special exhibitions such as Death: Life’s Greatest Mystery and Wildlife Photographer of the Year. The ROM is open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekends.

Peter Pan and the Wendy Lady

Witness the story of the boy who never grew up at the Campbell House Museum from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Presented by White Mills Theatre, Peter Pan and the Wendy Lady follows the story of Wendy and her journey towards self-discovery through the guidance of a moody fairy and an enthusiastic young boy. Tickets range from $38-$50 and showtimes are from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Momo Anime Market

Scarborough’s Momiji Centre has organized the ultimate market for all anime fans. There will be vendors, fun workshops and an array of snack options. Cosplaying is encouraged and organizers say all money raised will go towards supporting seniors at Momiji and members of the community. Tickets are $10-$20 and the event is happening all weekend long.

Toronto Game Expo

Take home a rare retro game at the Toronto Game Expo at Exhibition Place. This jam-packed event offers gamers the opportunity to find both old and new video games, board games, collectables, toys and so much more. There’s also game tournaments, a chance to enter raffle prizes and cosplay and YouTube guests in attendance. The event is from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m and tickets range from $20-$60.

Sunday, Mar. 24: 

Planted Expo Toronto

For those ready to start planting their spring crops, why not visit Planted Expo Toronto at  Enercare Centre where you can shop from a variety of 200 food and lifestyle vendors. There will also be speakers at the event covering topics such as cooking, fitness and fashion. The expo starts at 10 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m.

Reset Human Libraries

The Reset Living Room is hosting a free Human Library from noon to 3 p.m. where there will be opportunities to speak to over 30 business owners, leaders and community members. These changemakers will act as “books” that can be “borrowed” for a 25-minute conversation. There, attendees can ask questions and learn from their personal experiences.

Spring Weekend at the Aga Khan Museum

Bring your family and friends to the Aga Khan Museum this weekend to celebrate the arrival of spring. The museum is providing free activities, creative workshops, a performance by Shashar Zarif, and an insightful panel discussion hosted by UNITAR and York University. Tickets are $20 for adults and the museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
