You made it to the long weekend, Toronto! It’s the last weekend of August, so we’re making sure you end off the month with a hurrah!
This weekend, there’s multiple festivals such as BuskerFest and the Toronto Dragon Festival, musical events, and food tours happening across the city.
Friday, August 30:
Toronto International BuskerFest
For four days straight, Torontonians will be entertained by the most daring performances, mind-boggling circus acts, crazy acrobatics, shocking magic shows, hilarious comedy and more at this year’s BuskerFest. There will also be over 30 food vendors, art vendors, a beer garden and a pet festival on the grounds. The event starts at noon and ends at 11 p.m. at Woodbine Park. Tickets are $10 each.

2024 Toronto Dragon Festival
Watch a captivating performance of lion and dragon dances at the 2024 Toronto Dragon Festival. Presented by the Canadian Association of Chinese Performing Arts, the festival showcases cultural productions and acrobatic spectacles. This year, there’s also a beer garden, a night light show and lots of tasty food. It’s free to attend and takes place at Nathan Phillips Square from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Bark In The Park TO
If you’re going to BuskerFest, make sure to stop by another festival happening at Woodbine Park called Bark In The Park TO. This festival is dedicated to all dogs and dog lovers and is packed with fun activities, cool performances, and pet-centric vendors. There’s going to be interactive play areas, photo ops and a whole market for pet products and services.

Saturday, August 31:
75th Canadian International Air Show
Keep your eyes to the sky on Saturday for the 75th annual Canadian International Air Show. This year’s lineup includes the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, the Royal Air Force Aerobatics Team, and the celebratory RCAF 100th paint scheme on the CF-18 demonstration jet. Tickets are $80 each and they include access to the Canadian National Exhibition. The show is from noon to 3:40 p.m at Marilyn Bell Park.

Electric Island
Calling all ravers, Electric Island is back for two days of electronic music at 250 Fort York Blvd. This weekend’s lineup includes Eli Brown, Dubfire, Barry Can’t Swim, Milch, and Nitin, among others. Two-day general admission passes are $153.69.

T.U. Jazz Fest Masterclass Series 2024
Juno Award-winning singer, songwriter and motivational speaker Kellylee Evans will be working and leading performers on stage at the T.U Jazz Fest Masterclass Series. Other performers include Rodrigo Simoes, Angela Pincente Octet, Sound Spaghetti and more. Singers and instrumentalists are encouraged to bring a track without vocals or an instrument to sing or play along to. The free session is from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at 5120 Yonge St., in North York.

Sunday, September 1:
Around the World? Market
Prepare to try cuisines from around the world at Society Clubhouse for their “Around the World? Market.” This market aims to bring people together of different cultures and expose the community to a variety of international cuisines, fashion and music. It’s free to attend and is happening from 2 to 8 p.m. at 967 College St.

Caribbean Street Food Festival
Try some delicious Caribbean street food at Stackt Market on Sunday where there will be island-style cocktails, storytelling, dancing and an opportunity to win some cool prizes. The free event starts at noon and ends at 7 p.m.

Yoga in Trillium Park
Start your morning off right with a free yoga class at Trillium Park. Each class is taught by a certified instructor who focuses on strengthening the core, mindfulness and the body. All ages are welcome and attendees are encouraged to bring their own mat. The one-hour class is from 10 a.m to 11 a.m.

Monday, September 2:
Usher
Pop icon Usher is performing in Toronto at Scotiabank Arena for his “Past, Present and Future” tour. The singer is recognized for headlining the Super Bowl halftime show earlier this year and for his multiple smash hits, such as “Yeah!,” “OMG” and “Hey Daddy,” among others.

Promise Cherry Beach
Squeeze in one more beach day before summer ends and attend Promise Cherry Beach, a weekly music festival with Promise and Toronto Queen icon Aeryn Pfaff. The festival includes live electronic music, a beer garden, an artisan market and several food vendors. The line-up includes some Canadian DJs, such as Codiak, Young Teesh, and headliner D. Tiffany.

Labour Day Parade
The Labour Day Parade is returning to the CNE and this time, it’s bringing 25,000 members of the Toronto and York Region Labour Council. This year’s theme is “Workers Shape Our Future” to celebrate the fight for justice and dignity for workers. The parade will take place along Queen Street starting at University Avenue, and will begin at 11 a.m.
