Toronto Public Library is bringing back its beloved Christmas Book Sale in November, offering book lovers a chance to stock up on affordable reads just in time for the holidays.
The three-day event runs from Thursday, Nov. 20, to Saturday, Nov. 22 at the Toronto Reference Library’s Beeton Hall.
Shoppers can browse through a wide selection of fiction and non-fiction books, along with art titles, children’s books, magazines, DVDs, and CDs — starting at just $1.
Most items will be priced between $0.50 and $5, with a few rare finds set aside at higher prices. Cash is preferred, but debit and credit are accepted for purchases over $5.
The sale is known to draw big crowds — and for good reason. For many Torontonians, it’s a tradition and one of the best deals for book lovers in the city. Entry on opening day will cost $2, while the rest of the sale is free to attend.
Proceeds from the book sale will go directly toward supporting library programs and services, helping TPL continue to offer resources that many communities rely on.
For those who can’t make it, TPL also runs year-round bookstores, BOOKEnds North and South, managed by Friends of the Library volunteers.
Earlier this fall, all 100 TPL branches began opening on Sundays, expanding access to study spaces, programs, and community resources.
