“Every day growing up was like the World Cup. Every day walking outside was a Duolingo lesson because it’s such a melting pot of diversity,” he said in the TikTok video.
He added that plazas are filled with cultural cuisines, such as Afghan, Arabic, Spanish foods. He highlighted that Chinese people can speak Arabic, brown people can speak French, it’s very diverse.
“I live in downtown Toronto and I can’t tell who is a tourist and who is a local,” one TikTok user joked.
“Toronto we like to hate on ourselves but the older I get, the more I realize I’m so lucky I was born and grew up here. Have met some amazing friends from all over the world,” another added.
“My kids go to a Francophone school in an English area and more than half the kids are first gen Canadians and the only thing they all have in common is the French language. Some have no English. Some have 3 or 4 languages already at 6yo. My kids learn so much more than just their academics,” another wrote.

“Seeing people in the city draped in their country’s flags is so wholesome,” he said in his video.
