With two games under their belt ahead of the first official tip-off of the season on May 8, the Toronto Tempo have officially closed out their preseason.

Toronto’s Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) team recently debuted with a ton of fanfare, marking the first expansion the league has made outside of the U.S. With the season set to kick off later this week, here’s how they played and what their final roster looks like before their first regular-season game.

Preseason games

Toronto’s WNBA team played two preseason games during training camp. The first was a home opener against the Connecticut Sun on April 29, and the second was an away game against the Minnesota Lynx on May 1.

The Tempo played well against both teams, keeping the scores close until the fourth quarter. During the final minutes of both games, the Tempo lost some steam and missed some crucial baskets.

The women lost 78 to 83 to Connecticut and lost 66 to 73 against Minnesota.

The Tempo so far have waived four players: Dara Mabrey, Maddison Rocci, Kristy Wallace, and Elizabeth Balogun. This leaves the team with 15 players with more waives to likely come.

The next game for the Toronto Tempo will be on May 8 at 7:30 p.m. at Coca-Cola Coliseum against the Washington Mystics.
