Bow Wow and Omarion

Rating: NN

The sloppy, hubristic mess of a title track actually contains the line “There’s about to be mass hysteria / I’m about to touch every girl’s ass in America.” It’s buried within the tune’s blatant sonic similarity to R. Kelly and Jay-Z’s Best Of Both Worlds debacle. which these guys obviously think they are on the level of duplicating. Do they? Not so much.

Bow “I’ll Never Be Snoop Dogg” Wow and Omarion “I’ll Never Be Usher” Grandberry craft 12 clichéd, young-millionaire-playboy tracks for a vanity project. They blasphemously jack LL Cool J’s Going Back To Cali beat and throw an atrocious new chorus on it for Hey Baby (Jump Off) – the title alone should ban it from FM radio automatically.

Sure, your tweenage little sister will probably love this album, but I’m sorry, if she was even partially aware of hiphop and R&B music for the last decade or so, she’d know how much pilfered production and recycled rap is crafted here.

Omarion is joined by Trey Songz, Mario and Jerzee at Massey Hall December 27.
