Local choral group Choir! Choir! Choir! is trying to raise $30,000 to bring a Syrian refugee family to Toronto. A fundraising show takes place Tuesday (December 8) at Lee’s Palace (529 Bloor West) featuring Reuben and the Dark frontman Reuben Bullock.
The event is part of the choir’s Epic Nights series, which invites musicians to perform with the open choir’s 200 members. Bullock will lead them in a performance of John Lennon’s Imagine to mark the 35th anniversary of the Beatles icon’s death. Suggested donation is $10 at the door.
Choir! Choir! Choir has also started an online campaign via the Ryerson University Lifeline Syria Challenge at choirchoirchoir.com/#/syria. So far $10,000 has been raised. Send questions to choirchoirchoir@gmail.com.
