A Toronto woman is offering a hefty reward for anyone who finds her missing cat.

Amelia Maltepe, a real estate investor, took to Instagram to share that her cat Mika ran away last week.

According to her post, Mika took off on Mar. 5 in the Casa Loma area.

“If you see him, please take a picture (or video) and direct message me on instagram right away and PLEASE DONT CHASE HIM. Please follow him until we arrive, so we can capture him and bring him home safe,” she captioned the post.

Mika is a pretty distinguishable animal since he is a Savannah cat, which is described as a breed developed in the late 20th century from crossing a African serval with a domestic cat.

Apparently this hybrid produces large and lean offspring, with mostly serval characteristics like its large ears and brown spots.

According to Purina Canada, The first ever cat of this breed was actually named “Savannah” and was born in April 1986.

Additionally, a first-generation Savannah cat can cost more than $20,000. The cost for generations that came after is much less but can still cost a pretty penny of over  $1,000.

“Savannah Cats have strong hunting instincts, so they aren’t always suitable for households with pets like fish, hamsters, and birds,” Purina’s website reads.

Additionally, this type of cat is known to be a great companion to other cats and dogs, children and other humans if given the proper socialization as a kitten.

It can also live for 12 to 20 years.
