Ajax resident Ann-Marie Jeremiah has defied the odds, winning the lottery jackpot not once, but twice – both within a year.
Jeremiah’s first lucky win was on April 20, 2024, when she won a $1 million ‘Encore’ prize. Less than a year later, on February 24, 2025, she won yet again – this time claiming a $100,000 prize with the Instant Crossword Tripler.
“When I saw the ‘Big Winner’ message on the screen, I was so surprised and thought to myself, ‘No way! How did I win this?’ I reviewed the rules and details on the back of the ticket, and as I realized it was true, I was overcome with happiness,” Jeremiah said.
As a mother of three, Jeremiah has been trying her luck with the lottery for decades, and enjoys playing Lotto 6/49, Lotto Max, and a variety of Instant games. However, she never imagined she’d win twice in such a short span.
“When I told my husband, he was shocked and could only say, ‘again?’” Jeremiah continued.
The unexpected lottery win has left Jeremiah feeling incredibly grateful.
“I feel beyond blessed,” Jeremiah continued. “To have won twice is a surreal feeling. Now that’s something I can brag about!”
Following her first win, Jeremiah paid off her mortgage. Now, with her latest winnings, she plans to invest and save for the future.
The winning ticket was purchased at Kitchen Food Fair on Middlecote Drive in Ajax.
